Soccer Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Eastside on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eastside Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Warriors have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Charlotte Bozarth and Emma Workman scored both of Riverside's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Riverside's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-1. As for Eastside, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gaffney at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Eastside also won't see the pitch for a while: their next contest is against James F. Byrnes at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th.
