Volleyball Recap: Severance Silver Knights vs. Timnath Cubs

After flying high against Fort Lupton last Monday, Severance came back down to earth. The Severance Silver Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timnath Cubs on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Silver Knights of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.

Severance started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22.

Peightan Swanson paced Severance's offense, picking up 18 kills. Swanson got some help from Brooke Zink and her 34 assists. Zink was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Severance has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Timnath, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
