Eagle faced Shelley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Russets by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Shelley was led to victory by Ashtyn Davis and Mallory Higham. Davis had 17 digs and two aces, while Higham had 12 digs, two aces, and one block. Davis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emmersyn Drollinger, who had 14 digs.

Eagle's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Shelley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Eagle will host Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelley, they will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
