Basketball Recap: Mountain Grove Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

It's playoff time, and Mountain Grove had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 73-67 W over the Hollister Tigers on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Tigers are ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mountain Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points over those games. Hollister is on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mountain Grove beat Hollister by a score of 73-67 on Monday.
