Recap: First Academy Lions vs. CHESS Academy Knights
On Monday, First Academy came up short against CHESS Academy and fell 52-39. First Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, First Academy had strong showings from Jakson Bounds, who scored 17 points along with four steals, and Logan James, who scored 12 points along with two steals. James is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.
First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for CHESS Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Academy will take on Colquitt Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Colquitt Christian Academy is ranked 579th, while First Academy is ranked 588th). As for CHESS Academy, they will be playing at home against Furlow Charter School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
