McKeel Academy is 9-1 against Mulberry since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. McKeel Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

McKeel Academy took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Santa Fe Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Hawks 7-5.

Cooper Hamilton looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Kolton Houston was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Thomas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Mulberry unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Santa Fe Catholic by a score of 6-5.

Griffin Cline was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Partridge, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Mulberry's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for McKeel Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. McKeel Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mulberry struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
