Basketball Recap: Osceola Bulldogs vs. McCool Junction Mustangs
After flying high against Santee last Friday, Osceola came back down to earth. The Osceola Bulldogs fell 65-56 to the McCool Junction Mustangs on Thursday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Loss or not, Osceola got some senior leadership from Kelby Neujahr and Boston Hinkle. Neujahr went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and six boards, while Hinkle went 6 for 13 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Neujahr's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Santos, who posted five points.
Even though they lost, Osceola smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive matches.
McCool Junction's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Mcdonald led the charge by going 6 of 12 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Mapieu Kouchinin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.
Osceola's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for McCool Junction, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
