Basketball Game Preview: Shenandoah Zeps vs. Monroe Central Seminoles + How To Watch

Shenandoah hasn't had much luck against Monroe Central recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Zeps are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Seminoles at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Shenandoah is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Shadyside: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Zeps blew the Tigers out of the water with a 65-28 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-15.

Shenandoah relied on the efforts of Emily Moore, who shot 67% from beyond the arc to rack up 22 points and five steals, and Molly Van Fleet, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Brenna Leach, who posted six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Shenandoah was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Monroe Central hadn't done well against Waterford recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Seminoles took down the Wildcats 48-31.

Shenandoah has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 55 points this season. As for Monroe Central, their record is now 3-1.

Shenandoah couldn't quite get it done against Monroe Central when the teams last played back in January as they fell 44-37. Can the Zeps avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
