Flag Football Recap: Sherman Oaks CES Finds Playoff Glory Versus Crenshaw

With a playoff win on the line, Sherman Oaks CES rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Crenshaw Cougars 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since November 6, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Crenshaw lost, don't look at Nevaeh Bell. Despite the final result, she rushed for 101 yards and two scores, and also threw for 139 yards on nine of 15 attempts.

Sherman Oaks CES has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.9 points on average over those games. As for Crenshaw, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-8-1.

Coming up, Sherman Oaks CES will challenge San Fernando at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them. Crenshaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
