Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Corsica/Stickney's Winning Streak

Corsica/Stickney dropped down to 6-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 3-0 to the Burke Cougars. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Braylee Bordewyk paced Corsica/Stickney's offense, picking up nine kills. Bordewyk really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

As for Burke, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0).

Leading Burke to victory were Breckynn Pistulka and Kyrie Matucha. Pistulka had four digs and two aces, while Matucha had 12 digs and five assists. Matucha is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Corsica/Stickney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Ethan on the 18th. As for Burke, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Colome on the 18th.
