Basketball Recap: Garrett Kelly Key Part of a Team Effort in Tomcats Win

Tom Bean hadn't done well against Celeste recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tom Bean Tomcats came out on top against the Celeste Blue Devils by a score of 48-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tomcats also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tom Bean to victory, but perhaps none more so than Garrett Kelly, who posted eight points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Maguire Poole, who scored four points and six steals.

Tom Bean's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Celeste, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

Tom Bean will square off against Bland at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Celeste, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sam Rayburn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
