Basketball Game Preview: Waynesboro Little Giants vs. Staunton Storm

Waynesboro is 1-9 against Staunton since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Waynesboro Little Giants will venture away from home to face off against the Staunton Storm at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Waynesboro is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They fell 69-56 to Riverheads.

Meanwhile, Staunton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilson Memorial. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Green Hornets are ranked 72nd).

Staunton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Waynesboro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Waynesboro lost to Staunton on the road by a decisive 56-41 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Waynesboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
