Baseball Game Preview: Edgewood Crusaders vs. Belleville Wildcats

The Edgewood Crusaders will take on the Belleville Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Edgewood is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

While Edgewood's win against Platteville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Hillmen 3-2 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Belleville came into Saturday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out Wisconsin Heights 5-3.

Edgewood's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Belleville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.

Edgewood took their win against Belleville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
