Volleyball Recap: James Carl Serrano's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Durango over Southeast Career Tech

Durango was the 3-1 winner over Southeast Career Tech when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Trailblazers fell just short of the Roadrunners by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Durango was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Southeast Career Tech work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 19-25, 21-25, 27-25, 15-13.

Durango's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Carl Serrano, who had 46 assists and five digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Campana, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Durango has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Southeast Career Tech, their record is now 6-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durango will face off against Sierra Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southeast Career Tech, they will take on Doral Academy Red Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Roadrunners are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
