Basketball Game Preview: Jackson City Tigers vs. Elliott County Lions

Jackson City lost 68-46 to Breathitt County on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Bobcats are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Elliott County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against West Carter by a score of 46-37 on Friday.

Elliott County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Jackson City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Jackson City strolled past Elliott County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 55-39. Does Jackson City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elliott County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
