Basketball Game Preview: Llano Yellowjackets vs. Jarrell Cougars

The Llano Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Jarrell Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Llano is looking for their season's first win.

On Saturday, Llano came up short against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent and fell 48-41.

Konrad Zwicke put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 18 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Johnson, who had eight points.

Meanwhile, Jarrell can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against West by a score of 66-55. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1102nd, while the Trojans are ranked 463rd).

Llano's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Jarrell, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Llano was able to grind out a solid victory over Jarrell when the teams last played back in January, winning 69-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Llano since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
