Basketball Game Preview: Yoncalla Eagles vs. Riddle Irish

The Yoncalla Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Riddle Irish at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Yoncalla and seven for Riddle.

Yoncalla might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 62-23 to North Lake/Paisley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while North Lake/Paisley are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Riddle lost to Rogue River on the road by a 32-14 margin on Tuesday.

Yoncalla's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Riddle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Yoncalla took their victory against Riddle in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 42-21. Will Yoncalla repeat their success, or does Riddle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
