Volleyball Recap: Triton Takes a Loss

Triton saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manchester Squires.

Triton was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15.

Avery Viers paced Triton's offense, picking up ten kills. Viers got some help from Clara Doll and her nine assists. Viers was also a major player on defense: she and Savannah Hawley shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with four each.

Triton's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Manchester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Triton will welcome Winamac at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manchester, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Northfield on the 20th.
