Softball Recap: Cecilia Comes Up Short

Cecilia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-3 to the Southside Sharks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Sharks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Cecilia's loss dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Southside, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Cecilia and Southside are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulldogs will square off against Franklin Parish on Saturday. Cecilia will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for Southside, they will face off against Ouachita Parish on Saturday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.91 runs per game on average), something the Sharks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
