Baseball Game Preview: Seneca Indians vs. Kickapoo Panthers

Seneca is 9-0-1 against Kickapoo since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians will welcome the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Seneca will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Seneca is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since May 23, 2025 on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past Weston 4-3.

Jackson Konichek was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jax Wall, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Kickapoo and De Soto, and De Soto kept the tradition alive. The Panthers came up short against the Pirates on Tuesday, falling 14-2. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Kickapoo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Seneca, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seneca has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kickapoo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Seneca was able to grind out a solid win over Kickapoo when the teams last played on Thursday, winning 8-4. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
