Morrison and Bureau Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Morrison has four straight wins, Bureau Valley has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Morrison is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Ashton-Franklin Center on Thursday as they made off with a 23-4 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Koltin Swaim and Kaleb Schroeder did most of the damage at the plate: Swaim got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI, while Schroeder went 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases Swaim has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Collin Renkes, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Morrison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Alleman hit Bureau Valley with a seven-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Storm lost 11-1 to the Pioneers.

Morrison's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bureau Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.
