Volleyball Recap: Carson Starts Season with Victory Against Bellflower

Carson had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Bellflower Buccaneers as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Colts not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 10, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

While Carson won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-11.

Carson was led to victory by Sam Lee and Nahla Castillo. Lee had five digs and three aces, while Castillo had five aces. Those five aces gave Castillo a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Carson was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellflower only served one ace.

Bellflower is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Carson has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against South East on the 25th. As for Bellflower, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against South on the 26th.
