Basketball Recap: Delaney Farris Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hillsboro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rochester). They strolled past the Hillsboro Hiltoppers with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 47-30. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 53-51 victory the Hiltoppers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Rochester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Delaney Farris, who posted ten points. What's more, Farris also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January. Mylie Deatherage also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Hillsboro lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kearstynn Davis, who put up eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Davis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Adams, who earned nine points.

Rochester's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Hillsboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Rochester wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-27 loss against Glenwood on the 25th. As for Hillsboro, they have also already played their next game, a 66-27 defeat against Jacksonville on the 29th.
