Softball Recap: Pendleton Heights Takes a Loss

Pendleton Heights came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Shelbyville Golden Bears by a score of 7-5 on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Pendleton Heights saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Rector, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Erin Davis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Pendleton Heights' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Shelbyville, they moved to 5-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Pendleton Heights will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Frankton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelbyville, they will take on New Castle at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 13.2 runs per game this season.
