Basketball Recap: Johnson County Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Johnson County Longhorns had to suffer through a 78-51 loss at the hands of the Lewis County Lions. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 347th in Tennessee, while the Lions are ranked 132nd in Kentucky).

Johnson County dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Lewis County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson County will head out to face off against Elizabethton at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lewis County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Russell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lewis County is facing Russell at the right time seeing as Russell is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
