Baseball Game Preview: Parkway Central Colts vs. Oakville Tigers

The Parkway Central Colts will venture away from home to challenge the Oakville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Parkway Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Parkway Central had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Northwest on Tuesday. The Colts put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 12-1 win. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Colts this season.

Parkway Central let Jared Chorlins and Phoenix Hula run wild. Chorlins went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Hula scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Chorlins is becoming a predictor of Parkway Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was James Huff, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Parkway Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Oakville didn't have quite enough to beat Parkway South on Tuesday and fell 6-5. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Oakville now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Parkway Central, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Parkway Central beat Oakville 6-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
