Softball Recap: Quitman Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Quitman had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints with a sharp 16-2 win.

RAYLEIGH MIXON and BRIYONNA DEAR did most of the damage at the plate: MIXON went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while DEAR got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave DEAR a new career-high. Another player making a difference was KEELEIGH RUSH, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Quitman's record now sits at 6-8. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Coming up, Quitman will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pisgah at 6:30 p.m. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they will face off against Southeast Lauderdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.89 runs per game on average), something the Saints will no doubt try to take advantage of.
