Basketball Game Preview: Hathaway Brown Blazers vs. Cornerstone Christian Patriots

The Hathaway Brown Blazers will take on the Cornerstone Christian Patriots in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, Hathaway Brown came up short against Austintown-Fitch and fell 39-31. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Falcons are ranked 167th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Caroline Morgan, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jane Kennedy, who had seven points.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Chardon by a score of 49-42.

Cornerstone Christian pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hathaway Brown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Hathaway Brown beat Cornerstone Christian 57-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2020. Does Hathaway Brown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cornerstone Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
