Softball Recap: Hill-Murray Wins Going Away Against Harding

Hill-Murray never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Harding Knights 18-0. That looming 18-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pioneers yet this season.

Elli Petronack was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last nine matchups. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Hill-Murray got a massive performance out of Zoey Roberts, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. Those three runs gave Roberts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Rebel, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Hill-Murray kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Hill-Murray has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

As of now, neither Hill-Murray nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
