Basketball Recap: San Elizario Comes Up Short

San Elizario was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 40-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain View Lobos. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lobos earlier this season, when they won 29-26.

Despite the loss, San Elizario still got an impressive performance from Isabellla Hidalgo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards. Hidalgo is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nayeli Hernandez, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, San Elizario smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups.

San Elizario's defeat dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Mountain View, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

San Elizario wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 34-24 win against Ysleta on the 31st. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-30 victory against Clint on the 31st.
