Game recap

Roosevelt (Eastvale, Calif.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 27 points, drop to seven before the final whistle blew on a 27-20 victory over King (Riverside, Calif.).

The Mustangs were up 20-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Dearmie Street in the first quarter.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 20 entering the fourth.

Roosevelt's most effective player was Street. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.

The Wolves' Kendell Moore played well. The senior wingback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.

When the two teams played each other last season, RHS came away with a 41-20 victory.

The loss comes after King defeated Ramona 27-14 last week.

King (3-3) will play a Big VIII game against Corona next week, while Roosevelt (2-4) will take on Santiago also in a Big VIII game.
