Basketball Recap: Grayson County Comes Up Short

Grayson County had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 77-72 to the Woodward Academy War Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodward Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bentley Lusakuneo, who went 11-for-13 on his way to 29 points. Lusakuneo continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jarvis Hayes Jr., who shot 54% from the field to rack up 18 points and five boards.

The victory got Woodward Academy back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, Grayson County will be playing in front of their home fans against Ohio County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodward Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Germantown at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
