Volleyball Recap: New Hanover's Win Ends 12-Game Losing Streak on the Road

New Hanover won the last time they faced Whiteville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Wolfpack.

New Hanover was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-11, 26-28, 25-16.

Maille Smith paced New Hanover's offense, picking up 15 kills. Smith really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 20. Maddie Sawyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

New Hanover's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Whiteville, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hanover will host New Bern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whiteville, they will square off against St. Pauls at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th.
