Basketball Recap: Lanier Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Lanier Christian Academy lost against Pineville back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lanier Christian Academy Lightning took a 78-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pineville Mountain Lions.

Despite the loss, Lanier Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Mekhi Barber, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Xavier Barber, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Lanier Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Pineville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Lanier Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Horizon Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Lanier Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Horizon Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Pineville and McCreary Central will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
