Preview: Hernando Tigers vs. New Albany Bulldogs
The Hernando Tigers will be playing at home against the New Albany Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hernando is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
On Wednesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Hernando had to settle for a 56-53 defeat against New Hope. While losing is never fun, Hernando can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while New Hope is ranked second).
Meanwhile, New Albany put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Myrtle for the full four quarters, racking up a 81-32 win at home. With New Albany ahead 56-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
New Albany got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Issac Gilbert out in front who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Deaton, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals.
New Albany's victory bumped their season record to 3-0 while Hernando's loss dropped theirs to 1-3.
