Soccer Game Preview: Nacogdoches vs. Tyler

The Nacogdoches Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Tyler Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nacogdoches' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Nacogdoches lost 5-1 to Whitehouse on Friday. While losing is never fun, Nacogdoches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while Whitehouse are ranked 141st).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Tyler faced off against Whitehouse on Tuesday. The Lions came up short against the Wildcats, falling 5-0. The loss continues a trend for Tyler in their meetings with Whitehouse: they've now lost seven in a row.

Nacogdoches' defeat dropped their record down to 6-14-1. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11-2.

Nacogdoches suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Tyler in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
