Volleyball Game Preview: Northwest Mustangs vs. Crest Ridge Cougars

The Northwest Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Crest Ridge Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Northwest's tournament run continued when they took on Stover on Thursday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Mustangs haven't been shut out since back in August.

Meanwhile, Crest Ridge can bid farewell to their five-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. Everything went their way against Wellington-Napoleon as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Cougars not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 25th (when they won 3-0).

One reason for the win was Crest Ridge's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-21, 25-15.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6-2. As for Crest Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.

Northwest was able to grind out a solid victory over Crest Ridge when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 2-0. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
