When you're 7-0 in championship games since 2006, chances are you've got a claim staked to the state's most dominant football program. Meet Cathedral with its seven titles and ranking that's never been higher than eighth since MaxPreps became America's source for high school sports in 2006.

Our point system rewards high-ranking finishes, but also puts a premium on titles. Cathedral has both.

No less impressive are Carmel and Warren Central, Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, on the list of Indiana's most dominant football programs. Carmel has three titles and five runner-up finishes, while Warren Central owns three championships.

Here is how the points break down:

1. 20 for a state title

2. 10 for a state championship game appearance

3. Other points are based on where a team finished in the final MaxPreps Indiana Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive 25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
