On Saturday, Moundridge faced Hesston in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Moundridge Wildcats fell 51-40 to the Hesston Swathers. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Moundridge's loss came despite strong showings from Cammi Unruh and Addy Patrick. Unruh went 5 of 11 on her way to 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Patrick posted 11 points. Unruh's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Moundridge's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Hesston, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moundridge will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Berean Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Hesston, they will challenge Buhler at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Buhler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
