Football Recap: Buchholz Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Buchholz couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were beaten by the Belleview Rattlers 40-0 on Wednesday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Bobcats, who until this game were averaging 9.14 points allowed.

Atera Clark threw for 177 yards on 15 of 25 attempts. Taylor Booth was her top target, picking up 40 receiving yards.

Hannah Mason went supernova For Belleview., throwing for 146 yards and four touchdowns. Mason is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jakyra Bostick was in the mix as well, providing Belleview with two TDs.

Buchholz's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Belleview, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Buchholz does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belleview, they have already played their next matchup, a 14-6 win against Springstead on the 28th.
