Football Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Melissa Cardinals 78-7. While losing is never fun, the Redhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 841st, while the Cardinals are ranked 62nd).

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Melissa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Liberty will face off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Redhawks will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.25 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Melissa, they will take on Anna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
