It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Providence Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the Watertown-Mayer Royals on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Providence Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-20.

Providence Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Brooke Huegel and Emma Brandt. Huegel had 23 digs and three assists, while Brandt had 12 assists and nine digs. Huegel has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Providence Academy now has a losing record of 15-16. As for Watertown-Mayer, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.
