Soccer Recap: New Trier Comes Up Short

If New Trier was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Whitefish Bay on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trevians fell just short of the Maine South Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but New Trier couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Tim Vaughan, who's now up to five this season.

New Trier's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 1-1-2 and their overall record down to 6-5-2. As for Maine South, they pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, New Trier will challenge Whitney Young at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maine South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenbrook North at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
