Volleyball Recap: Bob Jones Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bob Jones couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Austin Black Bears by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Bob Jones took Austin into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 26-28, 22-25, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Bob Jones saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kat Dimitri had four digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Dimitri.

Bob Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 38-15. As for Austin, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 42-7.

Coming up, Bob Jones will square off against Auburn at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
