Softball Game Preview: Bangor Rams vs. Messalonskee Eagles

The Bangor Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Messalonskee Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bangor easily dispatched Brunswick on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Rams fell just short of Hermon by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since May 27, 2025.

Bangor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Folsom, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Charlotte Chadbourne also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Messalonskee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 4-0 to Skowhegan.

Bangor's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Messalonskee, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went Bangor's way against Messalonskee in their previous matchup back in April, as Bangor made off with a 13-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
