Basketball Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Alpaugh last Friday, Wonderful College Prep Academy came back down to earth. The Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions took a blow against the Kings Christian Crusaders on Wednesday, falling 62-34. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Wonderful College Prep Academy lost, don't look at Juan Negrete. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Almaraz, who put up seven points.

Kings Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kevin Roche, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Roche a new career-high in points. Trey Brouwer was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds.

Wonderful College Prep Academy's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-10. As for Kings Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Wonderful College Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-50 victory against Legacy Christian Academy on the 24th. Kings Christian has also already played their next match, a 61-34 win against Riverdale on the 23rd.
