Basketball Recap: Pulaski County Comes Up Short

Pulaski County lost against Southwestern back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pulaski County Maroons took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwestern Warriors.

Kinsley Molden was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-10 from beyond the arc on her way to 30 points and five rebounds for Southwestern. The dominant performance gave Molden a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jessalyn Flynn, who posted nine points.

Pulaski County's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Southwestern, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Pulaski County and Southwestern should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. Pulaski County will take on Mercer County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday up 129 places (39 vs. 168). Similarly, Southwestern (ranked 45th) will meet Pineville (ranked 140th) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
