Soccer Recap: Rural Retreat Comes Up Short

Rural Retreat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 9-1 to the John Battle Trojans. Rural Retreat were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Rural Retreat's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for John Battle, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rural Retreat will venture away from home to square off against Honaker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John Battle, they will head out to challenge Union at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. John Battle will be up against Union's rather soft defense (which has allowed four goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
