Basketball Recap: Midwest Central/Delavan Find Success

Midwest Central/Delavan posted their closest win since December 5, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Stark County Rebels.

Stark County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coley Johnston, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Sophie Finnegan was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Midwest Central/Delavan's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Stark County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.

Coming up, Midwest Central/Delavan will look to defend their home court on Monday against Elmwood at 7:00 p.m. As for Stark County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-30 defeat against Princeville on the 7th.
