Baseball Recap: Resurrection Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Berthoud on Friday, Resurrection Christian came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Colorado Academy Mustangs by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Charley Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden MacAlmon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Resurrection Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Colorado Academy, their record now sits at 15-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Resurrection Christian will challenge Eaton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Reds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Colorado Academy, they will take on Denver Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.3, the Thunder 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
